The Path of Kriya Yoga

Kriya Yoga is a spiritual path that brings us home to our own souls and to God. Through spiritual practice, compassionate living, and the blessings of the Gurus, it leads to the realization that we are more than our bodies, our emotions, or our thoughts. Kriya Yoga leads us to the experiential knowledge that we are the image and likeness of God and that our true nature is Love.

Paramahansa Yogananda

Kriya Yoga was introduced to the West by Paramahansa Yogananda, author of the acclaimed spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi. Hailed as the father of Yoga in the West, Yogananda lived and trained with modern-day saints and illumined masters of India before bringing the ancient teachings and practices to the United States in 1920.

One of Yogananda’s direct disciples, Roy Eugene Davis, director of the Center for Spiritual Awareness, ordained Craig Bullock as a teacher of Kriya Yoga. Craig went on to establish the Assisi Institute, which offers initiation into Kriya Yoga through individual study and preparation as well as a weekly inspirational and devotional service that includes prayer, chanting, and silent meditation.

Additionally the Assisi Institute offers courses, retreats, pilgrimages, and service projects that guide seekers to a deeper understanding and practice of meditation, faith, and other aspects of spiritual mysticism.
