The Assisi Institute seeks to grow beyond its current location in the Blossom Business Center into a larger setting with natural surroundings and additional facilities. This sacred space will cultivate contemplative stillness with a temple dedicated exclusively for prayerful silence, an ashram, meditation gardens, hermitages, and a retreat center. Steeped in the grace of God, the expanded Assisi Institute will nurture and hold sacred silence for the community and the world.

To achieve this vision, the Assisi Institute has launched a multi-phase $1.5 million capital campaign. Phase I is focused on purchasing suitable land and paying it off within 12 months. We have identified property with an existing residential structure just outside the city limits, which seems to offer promise. With minor renovations, the structure could be converted for use as a temple and gathering space, allowing the Assisi Institute to relocate its services and classes within the year. Other small structures such as hermitages for individual retreats, as well as meditative outdoor spaces, could be added while preparing for the second phase of growth.

Phase II, anticipated to take place over a 10-year period, will involve the design and construction of a permanent temple and parking area on adjacent land.

Subsequent phases will expand the vision even further with the addition of other buildings such as a retreat center and an ashram, a center of deep devotion and spiritual teaching similar to a monastery but open to lay people on the spiritual path.
